Privacy Notice

designedbyvenu.com is my personal portfolio. This notice explains what information the site handles, why, and who else is involved. The site has no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it asks for personal information only when you choose to send me a message.

Last updated

At a glance

  • No analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
  • The contact form emails your message to me. The site itself doesn’t store it.
  • Ask VEMA answers from information already on the site. Your questions aren’t sent to a server or an AI service.
  • Your browser keeps a few settings, and your Ask VEMA conversation until you close the tab. You can clear them at any time.

Who runs this site

This site is run by Venu Mathukumalli. For any question or request about your information, email Venu@designedbyvenu.com.

When you send a message

The contact form asks for your name, email address and message, and optionally your phone number. I use them only to read and reply to your message.

When you select Submit, the site’s server function, hosted by Vercel in the United States, sends your details through Resend, an email delivery service, to my email inbox, which Google hosts (Gmail). Your email address is set as the reply-to address, so my reply comes straight to you. The site itself doesn’t store your message or keep a database of messages.

Your message stays in my inbox until I delete it. Resend keeps delivery records, and Google keeps the mailbox, under their own policies. There is no fixed deletion schedule. If you’d like your messages deleted, email me.

To limit spam, the form has a hidden field that people never see, ignores messages sent faster than a person could type, and limits how many messages one IP address can send in ten minutes. That limit is checked in the server’s short-term memory, and the check itself doesn’t save your IP address.

Ask VEMA

Ask VEMA, the portfolio guide, answers from information already written into this site. The questions you choose are matched in your browser and aren’t sent to a server or an AI service. So that your conversation follows you between pages, your browser keeps it in session storage until you close the tab.

Read-aloud uses the voices that come with your browser or device. Some browsers, such as Chrome, use online voices, which send the text being read, Ask VEMA’s answer, to the browser maker’s speech service.

What your browser stores

The site saves a few things in your browser’s storage. They aren’t cookies, they aren’t sent to me, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings:

  • your light or dark theme choice, until you clear it;
  • whether the intro plays with sound, until you clear it;
  • whether you’ve already seen the intro, until you close the tab;
  • your Ask VEMA conversation, until you close the tab;
  • anything you type into the sample form in the Global Research Coverage Platform prototype, so you can save and finish later, until you close the tab.

The site sets no cookies.

Services that deliver the site

As with any website, loading these pages sends your IP address and basic browser information to the services that deliver them:

  • Vercel hosts the site and runs the contact form, and keeps standard server logs under its own privacy notice.
  • Fontshare, a font service from the Indian Type Foundry, delivers the site’s fonts.
  • jsDelivr delivers a code library used by the Claims Adjuster Copilot prototype (privacy policy).
  • Resend delivers contact-form messages to my inbox (privacy policy).

Links to other sites, such as LinkedIn or the design sources Ask VEMA cites, are covered by those sites’ own policies.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS. It limits where its pages can load scripts and other files from, and it blocks access to your camera, microphone and location. Form input is checked and size-limited before it’s emailed. No website can promise perfect security, so please don’t send sensitive information, such as passwords or financial details, through the form.

Features that are switched off

The site’s code includes a few features that aren’t switched on. None of them is active:

  • AI-generated Ask VEMA answers, which would send your question to an AI provider;
  • natural-sounding read-aloud voices, which would send Ask VEMA’s answer text to a voice provider;
  • sign-in for confidential projects, which would use your email address and a sign-in cookie;
  • a spreadsheet log of contact-form messages;
  • a third-party security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on the contact form.

I’ll update this notice before switching any of them on.

Your choices and requests

  • You don’t have to use the form: you can email me directly at Venu@designedbyvenu.com.
  • To ask what I hold from a message you sent, or to have it corrected or deleted, email Venu@designedbyvenu.com.
  • To remove the settings saved in your browser, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.

Changes to this notice

If the way the site handles information changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
